Book One — Facets of the Void

They erased his wife.
Not killed — erased.

Every trace, every memory, every proof she ever existed. Andrei Kraynov didn't even know he was married — until a vision cracked through whatever they'd done to his mind.

A dark fantasy where topology is weaponized, reality has a price, and no one — not even the monsters — is what they seem.

The First Facet — Book Cover

Mathematics as a Weapon

Topology isn't abstract theory here — it's combat. Constructs built from intent and equations can shield, warp space, or erase you from existence.

Reality Has a Price

Every use of the Void drains your Source. Push too far, and you don't die — you get erased from reality. As if you never existed. Poof.

No One Is What They Seem

The Organization that trains you might be the one that took everything. The creatures you fight have families. And the friend buying you a beer works for someone else entirely.

The First Facet

Andrei Kraynov — IT manager, chronic overthinker, the last person you'd call a hero — didn't even know he was married until a vision cracked through whatever they'd done to his mind.

Now he's a Seer — the Organization's rarest and most dangerous asset. The last three people with his gift died within a year. The first was identified in 1284 AD.

To find Anya, Andrei will have to master a power that runs on mathematics and intent, survive training that warps time and breaks bones, and figure out whether the people who gave him this gift are the same ones who took everything from him.

The creatures he fights have families. The paradise he's offered feeds on grief. And the friend who buys him a beer after work? He answers to someone else entirely.

About the Author

Artem Zemtsovskii

Artem Zemtsovskii

Mathematician. Fintech PM. Reality Breaker.

A mathematician who ended up in fintech product management, which is less of a career pivot and more of a controlled descent into corporate absurdity. He builds financial products by day and breaks fictional realities by night.

The First Facet grew out of a simple question: what if magic worked like topology, and the people who wielded it had the institutional charm of a government agency? The answer turned into the Facets of the Void series, which he plans to continue for several books. He's already apologizing in advance for the cliffhangers.

When not writing, Artem can be found fencing (the sword kind, not the garden kind), shooting arrows at targets that don't deserve it, playing guitar badly enough to keep the neighbors honest, or hiking somewhere with questionable cell reception.

The First Facet is his first published novel. It will not be his last.
